Van Den Eynde Ground Hemp is finely ground hempseed that you mix into groundbait as an attractive ingredient. Hemp naturally contains oil and releases a distinctive nutty aroma and flavour. The fine particles give the groundbait mix extra activity and are particularly effective for targeted fishing for roach, bream and other coarse fish.

Because ground hemp contains light, oil-rich particles, a high dosage can make the groundbait more active and reduce its binding properties. Use it as an additive and adjust the amount according to the desired action, water depth and current.

How do you use ground hemp?

First mix the ground hemp dry into the groundbait, then moisten it in several stages. With an unfamiliar mix, start with around 5 to 10% and increase only if you want more activity and hemp aroma. For bottom fishing, you can stabilise the mix if necessary with a suitable clay or a more binding groundbait.

For a firm roach and bream mix, Van Den Eynde recommends: 1 kg Superroach Heavy, 1 kg Turbo, 250 g Ground Hemp, 150 g Sinking Crumbs and 500 g Moist Clay. First mix the dry ingredients, moisten the groundbaits in several stages and add the clay only once the base has absorbed sufficient moisture.

Can I use ground hemp on its own?

This product is primarily intended as an ingredient in a groundbait mix. By combining it with groundbait and, if required, clay, you can control the activity and sinking speed much more accurately.

Why should I limit the dosage?

A small amount provides aroma and activity. Too much oil-rich hemp can make a bottom groundbait too loose or too active, meaning it will not remain in the desired spot as effectively.

Does ground hemp need to be cooked?

No. The hemp is already ground and can be mixed directly into the groundbait while dry. Whole hempseed requires different preparation.
