What line diameter suits your rig?
First, distinguish between the mainline of a float rig, the hooklength by the hook and the mainline on a feeder reel.
For fine float fishing for small silverfish, you can, for example, combine a 0.08–0.10 mm hooklength with a slightly stronger mainline of around 0.10–0.12 mm. TAKE Akashi Kilo is a fluoronylon line, available in 0.08, 0.10 and 0.12 mm for hooklengths and silverfish rigs; Colmic X5000 is also available in 0.12 mm for pole fishing rigs.
A nylon main line on a feeder reel requires a different choice. If you are looking for around 0.22–0.25 mm, the Preston Reflo Sinking Feeder Mono in 0.23 mm is a specific option. Match the line to the casting weight, distance, obstacles and expected fish. These diameters are starting points for different applications and are not interchangeable.
