If you prepare expanders with water, they will be too soft and swell excessively in warm weather. Also, you should discard any leftovers after one session. - Use a tall jar ⏳A common mistake is placing expanders in a low, wide jar, spreading them out neatly, and then submerging them in water. Result? Over-expanded expanders – exactly what you don’t want! Instead, choose a narrow, tall jar where the expanders are pressed against each other, so they barely expand.

Use the exact amount of moisture. You often hear: "I submerge my expanders well under water, and a day later they’re perfect." But if you use too much water, the expanders absorb maximum moisture and swell too much. The result? Expanders that are too soft or limp, which you don’t want.
- Do not refrigerate! Everyone does it :) but it’s not necessary at all. Just leave them on the cool floor in the garage! In very warm weather, you can divide your ready-made expanders into several small jars and keep them in a cooler before you leave. During the competition, swap them regularly so you always have cool, fresh expanders ready. Never fish with warm, swollen expanders!

Preparation Method
- Take your tall jar and fill it with Pro Expanders
- For 100g of expanders, add 75g of moisture. So your pellet weight x 0.75.
- After pouring the moisture over, press the expanders slightly by hand so they are all just covered with moisture. You’ll see this amount of moisture is just right.
- When preparing Pro Expanders, or if you want to save some money :) , you can safely add 30% up to a maximum of 50% water to the preservative. This makes the moisture less thick and it is absorbed faster. Keep in mind that the more preservative you use, the firmer the expanders and the better they resist heat and swelling.
- After a few hours, or when 80% of the moisture is absorbed by the expanders, turn the jar upside down so the top expanders are again at the bottom in the moisture.
- Now leave the jar on the garage floor overnight. The next morning they will be perfect!
Tip: Are they still too soft because you fish at long range, for example? Let them drain on a sieve until they are perfect for your fishing! Thanks to the preservative, they won’t spoil, but they will get a little drier and thus firmer each day. Once they are perfect for you, put them in a sealed jar and you can fish with them for months.
