Wide Gape Pellet Barbless

The Trabucco Wide Gape Pellet Barbless is a strong, barbless spade-end hook designed for larger pellets and hard-fighting fish.

The short shank and generous Wide Gape bend provide plenty of room for bulky hook baits, such as a large pellet or a combination of pellet and other bait. The extra-strength construction inspires confidence when fishing for carp, while the exceptionally long, sharp point penetrates quickly and helps keep the fish securely hooked during the fight.

The barbless design allows for quick hook removal after landing the fish. The pack contains 15 hooks.

Frequently asked questions

What bait is the Wide Gape Pellet suitable for?

The generous hook bend makes this hook particularly suitable for larger pellets. A combination of a pellet with, for example, sweetcorn or other compact hook bait can also be presented neatly without obscuring the hook point.

When should you choose a spade-end hook?

A spade-end hook is a classic choice for tying fine, compact hooklengths directly to the hook. Ensure the line runs neatly along the inside of the spade when tying and check the knot before you start fishing.

Why does this hook have a long point?

The long point is designed to penetrate quickly and find a secure hold. Check the point regularly, especially when fishing over a hard bottom or catching several fish in succession.
