With the Preston Supera X Tip and Butt Protector, you can keep made-up rod sections securely together and protect the vulnerable tip and butt section during transport and storage. The robust protective sleeves at both ends absorb knocks and friction, helping prevent damage to your rod inside or outside a rod holdall.

The two protectors are connected by an elastic strap. A sliding central Velcro fastening keeps the rod sections in place and allows the set to be easily adjusted to the length of your stored rod. It is ideal for, among others, the Preston Supera X Superlight rods, but can also be used with other suitably stored rods.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use this protector on a rod with the reel and rig still attached?
Yes. The set is particularly useful for storing a ready-to-use rod: place the protective sleeves over the tip and butt section, then secure the folded sections with the central Velcro fastening. Make sure that the lead or feeder cannot swing freely against the blank.

Does a tip-and-butt protector replace a rod holdall?
No. It keeps the rod sections together and protects the ends, but a padded holdall provides additional protection around the entire rod and reel during transport.
