Plummets – Plummet (2 Pieces)

Preston Plummets Depth Leads

With Preston Plummets, you can quickly and accurately determine the water depth and bottom contour before you start fishing. The large attachment loop makes the depth lead easy to use, even when there is already a hair with a bait band on the hook.

A guide groove keeps the line neatly in place, so the depth lead hangs straight below the rig. The hook point is secured in the soft foam base. This keeps the rig stable while plumbing the depth and protects the sharp point from becoming blunt. Each pack contains two depth leads.

Frequently asked questions

How do I attach a Preston Plummet?

Pass the hook through the large loop, place the line in the guide groove and gently press the hook point into the soft foam base. This keeps the depth lead securely attached and hanging straight.

Can I use this depth lead with a hair rig?

Yes. The generous loop is specifically designed to keep attachment easy when there is a hair or bait band on the hook.

Why is there foam on the underside?

The soft foam securely holds the hook point and helps prevent it from being damaged or becoming blunt while plumbing the depth.

How do I choose the right weight?

Use a lighter depth lead for calm, shallow water. A heavier model provides more control in deeper water, current or wind. Select the available weight using the variant selector.
