Description

The Preston ICS Slow Sinker is a slow-sinking inline weight for fishing for fish that do not feed exclusively on the bottom. Its design mimics the slow fall of bait, with a sink rate that Preston says is comparable to that of an 8 mm coarse pellet. This allows you to fish different water layers while the rig is sinking. This presentation is particularly interesting on heavily fished waters where fish feed cautiously.

Fishing while sinking

Preston recommends combining the Slow Sinker with 8 mm pellets. Feed loose pellets and cast the rig with your hook bait onto the feeding spot. The idea is for the rig to slowly sink through the water so that a fish can take the hook bait during the descent. Therefore, watch for bites immediately after casting too: this approach is not just about waiting for the rig to reach the bottom.

Changing within the ICS system

The Slow Sinker fits a Preston ICS stem. If you are already fishing with an ICS weight, you can switch to the Slow Sinker to try a different presentation. The forward-positioned weight aids casting.
