Description
The Preston Butt Gripper Rest is a rear rod rest that keeps the butt section of your rod securely in place. The soft, grippy TPE ribs support the end without clamping it tightly.
The open design accommodates a range of rod butt diameters. This makes it easy to place the rod in the rest and lift it out smoothly when you get a bite or want to cast again.
This rest is particularly practical for feeder and match setups where the butt section needs to remain in the same position every time. When setting up, check that the butt section sits correctly between the ribs and that you can lift the rod without resistance.
Key features
- Rear rest for the rod butt section
- Suitable for a range of diameters
- Soft, grippy TPE ribs
- Keeps the rod stable without tight clamping
- Allows smooth lifting of the rod on a bite or when casting again
Does the Butt Gripper Rest clamp the rod in place?
The soft ribs provide grip around the butt section, but do not form a closed lock. This allows you to remove the rod from the rest quickly and with control.
How do you set up this rear rod rest correctly?
Position the rest so that the butt section sits securely between the TPE ribs. Before fishing, test whether you can lift the rod in one smooth movement.
