Matchpult – Groundbait Catapult

The Preston Matchpult is designed for accurate feeding with natural bait such as maggots, casters, sweetcorn and cubes of luncheon meat. The semi-rigid mesh pouch keeps the bait compact while drawing back, allowing you to create smaller, more concentrated feeding areas. This bait catapult is therefore suitable for both match anglers and recreational anglers who want to feed regularly and in a controlled manner.

The dual PTFE Anti-Twist technology helps prevent the elastic from twisting or tangling during use. The durable hollow Amber-Core elastic provides smooth power and reliable performance. Choose the appropriate catapult using the current variant selector. For protected transport, you can store the Matchpult in the Preston Hardcase Catty Safe.

Frequently asked questions

What bait is the Preston Matchpult designed for?

The Matchpult is especially suitable for natural and loose bait, including maggots, casters, sweetcorn and small cubes of luncheon meat. The mesh pouch helps load these baits compactly.

Why does the pouch have a semi-rigid mesh construction?

This construction prevents the bait from spreading widely in the pouch. This allows you to group it better during the cast and create a more compact feeding area.

How do I feed the same spot every time?

Fill the pouch with roughly the same amount of bait each time, use a fixed draw-back point and aim at the same marker on the far bank. A consistent movement is more important than maximum power.

How do I maintain the catapult?

Rinse off dirt and bait residue after use, allow the pouch and elastic to dry, and check them regularly for cracks or wear. Store the catapult out of direct sunlight and without tension on the elastic.
