Description
Van Den Eynde Red Damp Clay is a red, moist, finely ground clay for weighting and structuring groundbait. As the clay itself has no nutritional value, you can make a groundbait mix heavier and add volume without offering a lot of extra food at the same time. The red colour also helps you deliberately match the shade of your baited area.
The clay has a fine, easy-to-work texture and absorbs plenty of moisture. You can use it on its own to degrease and separate live bait, or mix it with groundbait, additives, maggots and bloodworms. This makes it suitable for both pole fishing and feeder fishing, with the ratio adjusted according to depth, current and the desired binding.

Frequently asked questions
Why should I mix moist clay into my groundbait?
The clay makes the mix heavier and helps deliver the groundbait in a controlled way to the desired depth. As it has no nutritional value, you increase the amount of groundbait without quickly filling the fish up.
Can I use Red Damp Clay for maggots or bloodworms?
Yes. Gently rub the clay through the live bait to degrease it and separate the larvae. You can then feed the live bait together with the clay.
Do I need to wet this moist clay further?
The clay is already moist. First mix it thoroughly to loosen it, then assess the texture. Only add a very limited amount of extra water if your application genuinely requires it.
