Super XS Eyed Barbed

The Guru Super XS Eyed Barbed is an extra-strong eyed, barbed hook designed for targeting larger fish. The wide hook pattern is based on the well-known Super XS Spade and offers plenty of space between the shank and point, providing secure hook holds when using hair rigs and bait attached with a band.

The long, sharp point and durable PTFE coating make this hook suitable for species including barbel, chub and carp on waters where barbed hooks are permitted. For hard pellets, you can combine the hook with Captura Baits Bait Bands, keeping the bait outside the hook so the point can take hold freely.

Frequently asked questions

When should I choose the barbed version?
Use this version only on waters where barbed hooks are permitted. The small barb helps keep the bait and hook in place during the fight, but requires extra care when unhooking.

Why does this Super XS hook have an eye?
The eye makes the hook suitable for knotless knot rigs, hairs and other specimen hooklengths. This allows you to match the position and length of the hair precisely to your chosen hook bait.

Can I use this hook with a bait band?
Yes. The wide bend and long point work well when a hard pellet is attached outside the hook in a bait band. Leave enough space between the pellet and hook so the point can turn freely and take hold.
