Skimmer Hollow Wire – Float (10 pieces) 💰

The Guru Skimmer Hollow Wire is a stable pole float for fishing for bream, silver bream and other coarse fish on canals, ponds and slow-moving water. The elongated body shape offers little resistance when a fish takes the bait, while the wire stem keeps the rig steady in wind, undertow or when the bait needs to be presented stationary.

The hollow plastic antenna is highly visible in changing or low light and has enough buoyancy to clearly register larger hookbaits such as pellets, sweetcorn and worms. This version therefore combines sensitive bite indication with the visibility required when a fine solid antenna becomes difficult to read.

The body is made from high-quality balsa and finished with Guru's elastic Elastilex coating. This protective layer helps limit damage from knocks, wear and line cutting in. Mount the float securely yet adjustably with suitable float rubbers.

• Stable wire stem for wind, pull and a static bait presentation
• Highly visible hollow plastic antenna with extra buoyancy
• Elongated balsa body with low resistance on the take
• Durable Elastilex finish against wear and damage
• Suitable for pellets, sweetcorn, worms and other larger hookbaits

Frequently asked questions

When should I choose the Hollow Wire instead of a version with a carbon stem?
The wire stem is particularly suitable when stability is important, for example in wind, undertow or when you want to keep the bait as still as possible. A carbon stem is more suited to fast fishing and a naturally falling presentation.

Why does this float have a hollow plastic antenna?
A hollow antenna is highly visible and carries larger baits better than a very fine solid tip. This helps when using pellets, sweetcorn or worms and in difficult light conditions.

What type of water is this float intended for?
The Skimmer Hollow Wire performs well on ponds, canals and slow-moving rivers, especially when a calm, stable presentation for bream and other coarse fish is needed.
