The Drennan Red Range Carp Float is designed for float fishing on commercial carp fisheries. The progressive carbon blank combines a fast, responsive strike with enough forgiveness during the fight, allowing you to fish in a controlled manner for both cautiously feeding F1s and silverfish as well as harder-fighting carp.

This waggler rod is suitable for classic bottom fishing with a float as well as fishing higher up in the water. The enlarged guides support smooth, long casts and quick line retrieval. Drennan recommends reel lines from 4 to 8 lb and wagglers or pellet wagglers up to 15 grams. See the functionally matching collection of wagglers and accessories.

The secure Red Range screw reel seat keeps the reel firmly in place. The profiled EVA handle provides grip during fast and active fishing, while the 3 mm hook keeper lets you secure your rig safely to the blank. Thanks to the two-piece construction, the rod can be transported set up in a suitable rod holdall or hard case. Select the exact length of the currently available model from the drop-down menu.

Frequently asked questions

Can I fish both on the bottom and shallow with this rod?

Yes. The blank is designed for various float techniques on commercial fisheries, from conventional bottom fishing to pellet waggler fishing higher up in the water.

What waggler weights can I use?

Drennan recommends wagglers and pellet wagglers up to 15 grams. Choose a lighter or heavier model based on fishing distance, wind and the desired presentation, and do not exceed the stated maximum.

Why is a progressive action useful for carp and F1s?

The rod responds quickly on the strike, but bends progressively further during the fight as the load increases. This absorbs powerful runs more effectively and reduces the chance of hook pulls.
