In-Line Olivettes – Inline Olive Leads

Drennan In-Line Olivettes inline olive weights

With Drennan In-Line Olivettes, you can add the majority of the lead weight to your pole fishing rig in a compact, streamlined way. The line runs through the centre of the olivette, preventing the weight from coming off the main line. This makes this design particularly reliable in snaggy swims and when fishing for larger fish.

The slim shape sinks neatly through the water and creates less resistance than a wide lead weight. The matt camo bronze finish is less noticeable underwater than traditional black lead. Each olivette also has an engraved weight marking, so you can quickly identify the right one in your tackle box.

Frequently asked questions

How do I set up a Drennan In-Line Olivette?

Thread the main line through the central channel of the olivette while setting up your rig. Then position the weight in the desired place according to your chosen shotting pattern and finish the rig.

Why choose an inline olivette?

Because the line runs through the weight, the olivette cannot come off the main line. This allows you to add a relatively large proportion of the lead weight compactly and securely in one place.

When is an olivette useful in a pole fishing rig?

An olivette is useful when the bait needs to sink quickly through the upper water layers or when you want to create a defined bulk shotting pattern. With smaller shot below the olivette, you can fine-tune the final stage of the bait's descent.

What is the advantage of the camo bronze finish?

The matt bronze colour produces little glare and is less noticeable underwater than a solid black finish. This helps keep the rig discreet.
