Description
Drennan Acolyte Gripper Micro Barbed – 50 cm barbed hooklengths
Drennan Acolyte Gripper Micro Barbed hooklengths are hand-tied using 50 cm of super-soft Acolyte Fluorocarbon. This supple material, which is barely visible underwater, provides a natural bait presentation for both float and feeder fishing.
The strong Gripper hook pattern has been developed for commercial fisheries and situations where many or larger fish are caught quickly. Suitable bait options range from pellets and sweetcorn to meat, a bunch of maggots, casters and worms. The micro barb provides extra grip, while the sharp, durable needle point and PTFE coating support reliable hook holds.

Frequently asked questions
When should I choose the Gripper hook pattern?
This pattern is suitable when a finer standard hook is too light, for example when targeting larger fish, using bigger baits or fishing intensively on commercial fisheries.
Which bait types are suitable for this hooklength?
You can use pellets, sweetcorn, meat, a bunch of maggots, casters and worms, among others.
Is 50 cm suitable for feeder fishing?
Yes. The length gives the bait sufficient freedom of movement and is suitable for feeder techniques where a longer hooklength is preferred.
Can I also use this hooklength with a float?
Yes. The supple Fluorocarbon and natural bait presentation also make this hooklength suitable for float rigs.
