Description
The Preston Rod Safe Method is a compact rod rest for feeder, Method and float fishing. The rest is designed to hold the rod securely without restricting line movement.
The soft overmould supports the rod without a hard contact edge. A free line slot in the centre allows the line to move smoothly through the rest when adjusting tension or when a fish takes the bait.
The curved protective edge helps prevent a powerful bite from pulling the rod sideways or forwards out of the rest. This makes it a practical rod rest head for situations where you want extra security while still needing to pick up the rod quickly.
Key features
- Compact rod rest head for feeder, Method and float fishing
- Soft overmould for protective contact with the rod
- Free line slot for smooth line movement
- Curved edge helps prevent the rod from being pulled out of the rest
- Combines extra security with quick rod pickup
Why does the Rod Safe Method have a line slot?
The central slot allows the line to move freely while the rod is resting in the support. This lets you adjust line tension without the rest unnecessarily blocking the line.
When is the curved protective edge useful?
The edge provides extra security during powerful bites, for example when Method fishing for strong fish. It helps keep the rod in the rest until you pick it up.
