Description

Preston Dura Rods

Preston Dura Rods have been developed for modern commercial fisheries and similar applications on natural waters. The through, progressive action absorbs the powerful runs of carp and F1s in a controlled way, while the butt section retains enough backbone to steer larger fish. This makes the range forgiving during the fight without losing casting feel.

The series includes rods for short and medium feeder distances, as well as Method feeder and pellet waggler fishing. Quality guides, a reliable reel seat and a comfortable handle provide a refined finish and practical use during long sessions.

Key features

  • Through, progressive action
  • Designed for carp, F1s, bream and other coarse fish
  • Suitable for commercial fisheries and natural waters
  • Enough power in the butt section to steer larger fish
  • Quality guides, reel seat and handle
  • Choice of feeder, Method feeder and pellet waggler applications

Which Dura Rod suits my fishing?

A shorter feeder rod is ideal for compact commercials and short, accurate casts. For greater range or heavier Method feeder rigs, choose a longer and more powerful model. If you fish with a pellet waggler, choose the rod designed for it: it responds quickly when casting while maintaining a smooth action during the fight.

Matching Preston Dura Rods Quiver Tips are also available separately for the feeder rods. Always check compatibility with your rod before choosing a spare tip.

Frequently asked questions

Why is a progressive action beneficial for carp and F1s?

The blank bends progressively more as the load increases. This absorbs sudden runs more effectively while still providing enough control to steer the fish.

Can I use the same rod for Method feeder and pellet waggler fishing?

That is not the ideal choice. A feeder rod is built for casting a feeder and detecting bites through the tip, while a pellet waggler rod is designed for casting and fishing with a float. Choose the type that suits your technique.

How do I determine the right rod length?

Base your choice mainly on the required casting distance, the available space on the bank and the weight of your rig. Shorter rods offer plenty of control at close range; longer models provide greater reach and line control.
