Bait Up Xtreme 3.0m – Groundbait rod 🎁

The Preston Bait Up Xtreme 3.0m is a compact, powerful bait-up rod for accurately casting heavy bait-up feeders up to around 40 metres. This makes it particularly suitable for commercial feeder matches and other situations where you want to build up a feeding spot quickly and precisely.

The powerful blank has enough backbone to accelerate a filled feeder in a controlled manner, while the short length is ideal for compact swims. Extra-large guides support smooth line flow. The down-locking reel seat and cork/EVA handle provide a firm, comfortable grip during repeated casting. This is a specialised rod for introducing groundbait; for actual fishing, use your regular feeder rod afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

What do I use a bait-up rod for?
A bait-up rod allows you to quickly introduce multiple portions of groundbait in exactly the same spot. This is more efficient and controlled than repeatedly loading a regular feeder rod with very heavily filled feeders.

Can I fish with this rod too?
The rod is primarily designed for introducing groundbait. For bite detection and playing fish, a regular feeder rod with a suitable feeder tip is the better choice.

How can I feed as accurately as possible?
Choose a fixed reference point on the far bank, use the same smooth cast each time and only clip the line when conditions allow this safely. Fill the feeder evenly each time, so that the total casting weight and flight remain as consistent as possible.
