The Matrix Ethos Platinum Reels are spinning reels for the match angler who wants to choose specifically based on line capacity, reel weight and line retrieve. The series builds on the development experience of the HX Pro reels. The larger models in particular offer extra features for feeder fishing at multiple feeding spots. On this product page, you can choose between a complete reel and a separate spare spool: therefore, in addition to the size number, also check the designation in the selection list.

Extra feeder features on the larger models
The 5000 and 6000 have two line clips that allow you to set different casting distances for fishing at multiple spots. On these two models, slow spool oscillation and a worm shaft mechanism ensure even line lay. They also feature a low-resistance rotor brake.
Technical differences to help you choose
A lower gear ratio does not automatically mean less line retrieve per handle turn. Therefore, also compare the stated retrieve rate, weight and line capacity. The data below applies to the complete reels.

Choosing a suitable spare spool
A version marked ‘Spare spool’ is only a separate spool, not a complete reel. Choose an Ethos Platinum spare spool with the same size number as your Ethos Platinum reel. This allows you, for example, to prepare an extra spool with a different line. The weights and ball bearing counts above describe the reels, not the separate spare spools.
