Pro Commercial XS Method Eyed Barbless

The Gamakatsu Pro Commercial XS Method Eyed Barbless is an extra-strong, barbless hook for Method fishing for large carp and other powerful fish. The model is made from A1 Hard Wire and builds on the proven Specialist RX shape.

The eye is turned 10 degrees inward, aligning the hook and hooklength aggressively for fast hook-ups. The slightly inward-curved point grips the lip immediately, while the forged bend provides extra strength. A PTFE coating supports smooth penetration and helps keep the point sharp. Each pack contains ten hooks.

Want to use the same hook ready-tied on a hair? Then choose the XS Method Hair Rig with stopper or the XS Method Hair Rig with bayonet.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the eye turned 10 degrees inward?

The inward-facing eye position brings the hooklength and hook into an aggressive angle. This allows the hook to turn quickly towards the bottom lip when a fish takes the bait.

Is this hook suitable for large carp?

Yes. The A1 Hard Wire and forged bend give the hook the strength to apply pressure with strong hooklengths when playing large carp.

Which bait presentation suits this hook?

The hook has been developed for self-hooking Method rigs combined with a hair rig. You can fit the hair with, for example, a stopper or bayonet, depending on the hook bait used.

What is the advantage of the PTFE coating?

The smooth coating reduces resistance during penetration and supports fast hook penetration. At the same time, it helps keep the hook point sharp for longer.
