Pro Commercial Power Carp Pole Barbless – 20 cm Barbless Ready-Tied Hooklengths

The Gamakatsu Pro Commercial Power Carp Pole Barbless is a powerful, ready-made hooklength for targeting carp and other hard-fighting fish. The 20 cm rig is designed for pole fishing, but can also be used for feeder fishing when a robust hooklength with a barbless hook is required.

The Power Carp hook has a spade end, a round bend and a carefully shaped, slightly curved point. The forged bends, relatively heavy wire gauge and Gamakatsu A1 Hardwire give the hook the strength to maintain pressure on powerful fish. A PTFE coating supports fast penetration and helps keep the hook point sharp. The rig is tied with Cresta Visorate Power Mono, with the breaking strain matched to each hook size. You can tie your own hooklengths using the separate Cresta Visorate Intenz Power Mono.

Frequently asked questions

When should I choose the Power Carp Pole hooklength?

Choose this model when you expect hard-fighting fish on commercial fisheries and need to apply more pressure than with a finer all-round hooklength. The hook pattern is specifically designed for powerful carp fishing.

Is this hooklength suitable for a heavy elastic setup?

Yes. The official application specifies heavy top-kit elastic in combination with a puller system. Make sure to carefully match the hooklength, elastic strength and other components so the complete setup remains balanced.

What bait can I use with it?

This hooklength is versatile and can be used with maggots, soft pellets, worms and sweetcorn, for example. Choose the amount and size of bait according to the hook size and the way the fish are feeding.

What is the difference compared to an eyed hook?

This model has a spade end and is intended for attaching bait directly to the hook. For a hair rig with hard baits, a specific eyed model with a hair is generally more practical.
