Drennan Wide Gape Carp Barbless Hooklengths 15 cm

The Drennan Wide Gape Carp Barbless Hooklengths are ready-made hooklengths for pole fishing for carp. The strong, barbless Wide Gape Carp hook features an extra-wide, slightly square crystal bend that securely holds larger, soft hook baits. The short hook shank can also be largely concealed in the bait.

Each hooklength is precisely tied on nylon and has a consistent loop. The Hook Plate System keeps the 15 cm hooklengths flat, straight and under light tension, preventing unnecessary kinks in the line. Each pack contains eight ready-to-use hooklengths.

Frequently asked questions

Which hook baits are these hooklengths suitable for?

The extra-wide hook bend is particularly suitable for larger or soft hook baits, such as meat, sweetcorn, paste or a bunch of maggots. Choose a bait size that leaves the hook point completely clear.

Why are the hooklengths supplied on a flat plate?

The Hook Plate System keeps the hooklengths straight and under light tension. This creates fewer kinks in the nylon, allowing you to use each hooklength immediately with a consistent presentation.

Are these hooklengths suitable for feeder fishing?

The fixed 15 cm length and the Hook Plate System format are primarily designed for pole fishing. For feeder fishing, it is better to choose a hooklength with a length and rig specifically suited to that technique.

How do I choose the right version?

Match the hook size and line diameter to the size of the hook bait, the expected carp and the conditions. Choose a stronger combination for large fish or obstacles, and use a finer version for a more subtle presentation.
