The Drennan Red Range Feeder Tip is a replacement or additional feeder tip for Red Range series feeder rods. The tip is made from fibreglass and has a slow taper profile. This allows it to bend progressively and keeps bites visible for longer, which is especially useful when fish are feeding cautiously or when you need a little more time to recognise the right striking moment.

With an outside diameter of 3.5 mm, this tip is fully interchangeable within the Red Range feeder rod range. Choose the test curve in the product selector to suit your feeder weight, casting distance, current and weather conditions. A softer tip offers more sensitive bite indication for light feeder fishing; for heavier feeders, stronger current or a strong crosswind, a more powerful tip is generally more stable.

This feeder tip fits, among others, the Drennan Red Range Medium Feeder Rod and the Drennan Red Range Carp Method. When using it on another rod series, always check the spigot diameter: the same test curve does not automatically mean that the tip will physically fit.

No. Drennan states that these 3.5 mm tips are intended for Red Range feeder rods. If in doubt, measure the spigot diameter of the original tip and check the rod series. The Acolyte range, for example, does not automatically use the same tip.

Which test curve should I choose for my fishing?

Choose the lightest tip that remains stable while fishing. For short casts, still water and light feeders, a softer tip provides the most sensitive indication. Choose a heavier tip when the feeder, current or wind causes the tip to move continuously, or when you need to cast further.

What is the difference between a fibreglass and a carbon feeder tip?

A fibreglass tip generally bends more softly and further, offering little resistance to a cautious bite. A carbon tip usually responds faster and recovers more crisply after the cast. This Red Range version is deliberately made from fibreglass for progressive, highly visible bite indication.
