Margin Crystal Pole Floats

The Drennan Margin Crystal Pole Float is a strong, versatile float for carp and other quality fish along the margins, at far-bank islands and in shallow open water. The transparent Crystal® body is less noticeable underwater than a traditionally painted float, which is an advantage when fish are feeding cautiously in clear or shallow water.

The 2.5 mm hollow Glow Tip is highly visible among reeds and vegetation and also supports larger hook baits such as sweetcorn, pellets and worms. A sturdy 1 mm glass stem gives the float stability, while the double-wound spring eye protects the line and remains securely anchored to the body.

Fit the glass stem using soft, suitably sized float silicone tubing. For stable bait presentation along the margins, position most of the shot compactly around 15 to 30 cm from the hook. Spread the shot further apart when you want the hook bait to sink through the water more naturally.

Why does this float have a transparent body?

The clear Crystal® body creates less contrast underwater than a fully painted float. This makes it less noticeable to wary fish, especially in clear, shallow water close to the bank.

When should I choose the Margin Crystal instead of a classic slim float?

Choose this model when visibility, stability and carrying capacity are important: for example around vegetation, in a pronounced ripple, with larger hook baits or when fishing against an island. For very delicate fishing with small baits and extremely cautious bites, a finer model is generally more suitable.

How should I shot the Margin Crystal for fishing along the margins?

A compact shotting pattern approximately 15 to 30 cm from the hook keeps larger baits calmly in place when carp are competing in the margins. For a slower, more natural bait drop, you can spread the shot further along the line.
