Acolyte Maggot Plus 6" Hook Plate System – 15 cm Barbless Ready-Tied Hooklengths

The Drennan Acolyte Maggot Plus 6" Hook Plate System consists of ready-made, barbless 15 cm hooklengths for fine pole fishing. The strong Maggot Plus spade-end hook has a long-lasting sharp needle point and is particularly suitable for small natural baits such as maggots, casters and worm pieces, even when slightly larger fish are expected.

The hooks are expertly tied on soft Acolyte Fluorocarbon, which is inconspicuous underwater and supports a natural bait presentation. Each hooklength is stored straight and under light tension on a flat Hook Plate, preventing troublesome kinks in the material. The plates are also compatible with the matching Drennan Hook Book and Hook Box storage systems.

Frequently asked questions

When should I choose Maggot Plus instead of the finer Silverfish version?
Choose Maggot Plus when you want to continue using small natural baits but need a stronger hook because larger roach, bream, F1 or carp may also take the bait.

What is the advantage of Acolyte Fluorocarbon?
This supple hooklength material is inconspicuous underwater and helps the bait move freely and naturally. This is especially useful when fish are taking bait cautiously.

Why are the hooklengths supplied on a flat plate?
The Hook Plate stores each hooklength straight and under light tension. This reduces the chance of coils or kinks, allowing you to attach the rig neatly to the main line straight away.
