Acolyte Carp Method Barbless 🎁

Drennan Acolyte Carp Method Barbless – strong eyed Method hook

The Drennan Acolyte Carp Method Barbless is an extra-strong barbless hook for Method and hair rigs. The long needle point curves back towards the shank, while the angled eye helps position the hooklength at an effective turning angle. This allows the hook to turn in quickly when a carp takes the hook bait.

The forged construction and hard-wearing PTFE coating make this pattern suitable for intensive use on commercial fisheries. The design works particularly well with critically balanced wafters, pellets and other hair-rig baits. If you are looking for a ready-to-use hooklength, you can choose the same Method rig with a bait band, bait spike or pushstop.

Frequently asked questions

Why does this Method hook have an angled eye?
The angled eye guides the hooklength and hair into an effective position. When taken, the hook can turn more quickly and seek the lower lip with its long point.

How do I balance a wafter with this hook?
Choose a wafter with enough buoyancy to avoid lifting the hook completely off the bottom. Test the rig beforehand at the bank or in a small container of water, and adjust the bait size or add a small amount of weight if necessary.

Which bait attachment should I choose for my hair rig?
A bait band works well with hard pellets and dumbells, a bait spike with wafters and soft boilie-style baits, and a pushstop with pre-drilled or softer baits. Above all, choose the attachment that holds the bait securely without disrupting the presentation.
