Visorate Accelerate Tapered Leader

Cresta Visorate Accelerate Tapered Leaders

The Cresta Visorate Accelerate Tapered Leader is a tapered nylon shock leader for feeder fishing with a braided main line. The thin end allows for a compact connection to the braided line, while the thicker section absorbs the extra force generated during a powerful cast.

Thanks to the smooth transition from thin to thick, the connecting knot passes smoothly through the rod guides. This reduces resistance during casting, helps achieve greater distances and reduces the risk of the line wrapping around a rod guide. The thicker end is long enough to reach the reel spool when fitted correctly, absorbing the highest load during the cast.

The combination of a thin braided main line and this tapered shock leader also reduces line pressure. This means you retain clear bite detection even at distance. Each pack contains ten separate, ready-to-use shock leaders. The exact length, diameter and breaking strain depend on the selected version and are listed with the product options.

Key features

• Tapered nylon shock leader for a braided main line
• Thin end for a compact connecting knot
• Thicker section to absorb casting force
• Smooth passage of the knot through the rod guides
• Less resistance and less risk of the line wrapping around a guide
• Suitable for controlled casting at greater distances
• Supports direct bite detection
• Transparent green colour
• Ten separate shock leaders per pack

Why must the thicker section reach the reel spool?

The greatest load occurs close to the reel and rod when casting. By placing several turns of the thicker section on the reel spool, this force is absorbed by the strongest part of the shock leader.

Can I shorten this shock leader?

Yes, but make sure that enough of the thicker section remains on the reel spool. This retains the shock absorption and reliability the tapered shock leader is designed to provide.
