Rulermatt – Unhooking Mat with Measuring Function

The Cresta Rulermat combines a compact unhooking mat with a printed measuring scale. This allows you to unhook, measure and photograph a caught fish on one safe surface without moving it unnecessarily.

Measuring 100 × 50 cm, the mat offers ample space for most coarse fish, barbel and smaller carp. The polyester surface is lightweight and easy to handle. After use, simply fold the mat down compactly so it fits in a keepnet bag or carryall.

Always wet the mat before placing the fish on it, and use it on a flat spot close to the ground. This helps protect the fish’s slime coat and reduces the risk from unexpected movements.

Frequently asked questions

How do I measure a fish correctly on the Cresta Rulermat?

Place the wet fish with its mouth against the start of the scale and keep its body straight without forcing it. Read the length at the tip of the tail.

Do I need to wet the mat before every use?

Yes. A wet surface helps keep the fish’s protective slime coat intact and reduces friction during unhooking and measuring.

Is this mat designed for very large carp?

The Rulermat is particularly practical for coarse fish, barbel and smaller carp. For heavy specimen carp, it is better to choose a thicker, raised unhooking mat or cradle with more protection.
