Secret 1kg

Van den Eynde Secret is a classic all-round groundbait that binds quickly when formed and transported, but breaks up readily again on the bottom. This allows the groundbait ball to reach the swim in deeper water in a controlled manner without remaining there as a hard mass.

The mix contains no added flavouring and can therefore be used on its own or adjusted specifically to the fish species, water colour and current. Secret is best known as roach groundbait, but can also be used for bream, tench and carp. Its airy action and neutral base also make it suitable as a building block in your own groundbait recipes.

Mix the dry ingredients thoroughly and dampen the mix in several stages. Allow the groundbait to rest between stages and sieve it for an even texture.

Adjusting to the water

For ponds and gently flowing canals, you can make the mix heavier with Damp Clay, Black Damp Clay or Light Clay. On deep or fast-flowing canals and rivers, River Clay and Heavy Clay are more suitable for making the groundbait sink faster and hold better on the swim.

Frequently asked questions

Why is Secret suitable for deeper water?
The groundbait quickly gains enough binding to sink as a ball to the bottom, where it then breaks up again.

Can I use Van den Eynde Secret on its own?
Yes. The mix can be used independently, but its neutral base also allows you to combine it specifically with other groundbaits, clay or an additive.

Which clay is suitable for Secret?
Choose a lighter or damp clay for still to gently flowing water, and river or heavy clay when more weight and bottom adhesion are needed.
