Van den Eynde Record Gold is a ready-to-use, heavy groundbait for roach and bream. It was originally developed for deep, fast-flowing waters such as the Rhine, Meuse and Moselle, where the groundbait needs to reach the bottom quickly and remain active on the feeding spot for a long time. The groundbait is slow-acting: roach often arrive first, followed by bream later.

Record Gold can be enriched with maggots, casters, chopped worms or bloodworm. Moisten the mix in three stages, allowing it to absorb water each time, and mix it thoroughly. For still or shallower water, you can soften its heavy character with a lighter groundbait; in deep and flowing water, the strong binding is a key advantage.

Adjusting to the water

For a pond or lightly flowing canal, you can make the mix lighter and less nutritious with Moist Clay, Black Moist Clay or Light Clay. For deep or strongly flowing water, River Clay and Heavy Clay are more suitable for bringing the groundbait to the bottom faster and keeping it there.

WHY SHOULD RECORD GOLD BE MOISTENED IN THREE STAGES?

The heavy mix absorbs a lot of moisture. By adding the water in several stages, you prevent dry cores and achieve even binding. Let the groundbait rest between stages and sieve it if necessary.

CAN I USE RECORD GOLD IN STILL WATER?

Yes, but make the mix lighter with a more open groundbait or suitable clay and feed carefully. Used on its own, its heavy, slow-acting character is especially effective in deep or flowing water.

WHEN SHOULD I ADD LIVE BAIT?

Add maggots, casters, chopped worms or bloodworm only shortly before feeding. This keeps them fresh and allows you to check the final binding before the groundbait enters the water.
