Matrix MXC-4 X-Strong Bait Band Rigs 45 cm

The Matrix MXC-4 X-Strong Bait Band Rigs are ready-tied hooklengths for targeting strong, large fish with a pellet waggler or a free-running lead setup. The hooklengths are tied to exactly 45 cm using Power Micron nylon and an ultra-strong MXC-4 wide-gape hook. The PTFE coating and sharp hook point ensure reliable hook holds, while the barbless design is suitable for commercial fisheries where barbless hooks are mandatory.

The durable bait band is mounted in a loop using Jamie Hughes’ ‘band in loop’ method. This allows the hook bait to move naturally, puts less strain on the pellet band and keeps the hook point completely clear. This makes the hooklength especially suitable for hard pellets and dumbbell boilies when both strength and neat presentation are important.

Frequently asked questions

What type of fishing are these hooklengths intended for?

The 45 cm length was developed for fishing with a pellet waggler or a free-running lead setup. The strong hook and line make the hooklength suitable for targeting larger carp and other hard-fighting coarse fish.

Which hook baits can I attach to the bait band?

The bait band is mainly intended for hard pellets and dumbbell boilies. The bait stays outside the hook bend, allowing the hook point to hook freely.

What is the advantage of the ‘band in loop’ method?

With this setup, the bait band sits in a small loop. This gives the hook bait more freedom of movement, improves presentation and reduces strain on the bait band.
