Diamond Float

The Guru Diamond Float is a long, stable pole float for situations where the hook bait needs to remain still in place. Developed by Mick Wilkinson and Steve Ringer, it is particularly suitable for fishing with meat, sweetcorn and pellets on short lines.

The diamond-shaped body combines stability with sensitivity and low resistance when striking. The strong fibreglass lower stem runs through the high-quality foam body into the upper antenna, making the float highly robust. The hollow plastic tip is clearly visible and has sufficient buoyancy for larger baits.

Key features

• Long, stable float for short pole fishing
• Diamond-shaped body for balance, sensitivity and low resistance
• 1.8 mm hollow plastic upper antenna for excellent visibility
• Strong 0.9 mm fibreglass lower stem
• Through-body stem construction for extra strength
• Side eye set deep into the body and hand-glued
• Suitable for meat, sweetcorn, pellets and other relatively heavy hook baits

Secure the lower stem with soft, suitably sized float silicone. A compact shotting pattern helps keep the bait stable on a short line, especially when wind or feeding fish create movement over the groundbait area.

Frequently asked questions

When is the Guru Diamond Float a good choice?

Choose this model when fishing with a short pole and you need a stable presentation. The float is highly suitable for commercial fisheries and other venues where you want to present sweetcorn, pellets or meat steadily.

What does the diamond shape of the float body do?

The shape gives the float sufficient volume and stability without making it cumbersome. As a result, the rig remains steady while a biting fish encounters little unnecessary resistance.

Why is the through-body fibreglass stem important?

The stem runs through the foam body into the upper antenna. This reinforces the entire float and reduces the risk of breakage during intensive sessions targeting powerful fish.
