Monster XTR Pro Rods – Feeder Rod

The Preston Monster XTR Pro Rods are powerful feeder rods for situations where large feeders, long casts and hard-fighting fish are key. The range runs from compact models for commercial fisheries to longer rods for heavy distance work and flowing water. This allows you to choose a rod within the same product family that suits your casting distance, the total weight of your rig and the space available on the bank.

The high-quality carbon blanks combine casting power with a progressive action, ensuring the rod remains controlled under load. American Tackle guides support smooth line flow and the Fuji reel seat provides secure reel attachment. Depending on the model chosen, the construction and finish vary, but the range is always designed for powerful feeder fishing. Extra or replacement tips can be found with the Preston Monster XTR Pro Quivertips.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose the right Monster XTR Pro?

First consider the distance at which you fish, the total casting weight of the feeder and groundbait, and the amount of space at your swim. A more compact model is easy to handle at shorter distances, while a longer, heavier model offers more leverage and control for distance work or flowing water. You can select the current models directly in the product selector.

Is the tip strength in oz the same as the rod's casting weight?

No. The value in oz indicates the sensitivity or stiffness of the quivertip. The rod's casting weight determines how much total weight you can cast responsibly. When calculating that total weight, also take the groundbait in the feeder into account.

Can I replace a damaged quivertip?

Yes. Use a Monster XTR Pro tip that explicitly matches your rod model. Before purchasing, check both the fitting and the desired tip strength.
