Whip Rigs – Ready-made Rigs for Whips

The Drennan Whip Rigs are hand-tied, ready-to-use rigs for fishing with a whip. They are matched to the Drennan Vertex Whips and make it easy to quickly get started fishing for roach, bream, F1 and smaller carp.

The combination of a 0.15 mm main line, a 0.13 mm hooklength and a barbless Silverfish Pellet hook in size 16 is suitable for maggots, casters, pellets and sweetcorn, among other baits. An olivette with carefully spaced dropper shot helps cast the rig steadily, reduces tangles and presents the bait to the fish in a controlled manner.

Please note: these rigs are assembled with floats from discontinued ranges. The supplied float model may therefore differ from the photo. However, the line setup, float weight and shotting pattern remain the same as the selected version.

Frequently asked questions

Which Whip Rig length should I choose?

Choose a rig that matches the length of your whip. This maintains a practical balance between rod and line, allowing you to use the rig comfortably without having to set it up completely again first.

Why might the supplied float differ from the photo?

Drennan uses floats from discontinued ranges for these rigs. The appearance or model may therefore differ, but the float weight, line and shotting pattern remain matched to the selected version.

Which fish species and baits is this rig suitable for?

This rig is designed for quick and accessible whip fishing for small to medium-sized silverfish, F1 and smaller carp. The size 16 hook is well suited to maggots, casters, small pellets and sweetcorn.
