Van den Eynde Light Clay, or light clay, is a light, moist clay also known as feeder clay. It helps keep groundbait firmly in the feeder during the cast, after which the mix breaks down in a controlled manner on the bottom. This creates a light cloud that provides extra visual attraction around the feeding area.

Use this clay to add weight to a groundbait mix without making it unnecessarily nutritious, stabilise the moisture level and bring bait particles to the bottom in a controlled way. It works particularly well with a roach mix such as Van den Eynde Big Roach, especially on ponds and lightly flowing canals.

When should I use light clay instead of heavy clay?

Choose light clay on still or lightly flowing water when you want to add a little weight to the mix while retaining quick breakdown and a cloud effect. For deep or fast-flowing rivers, a heavier clay is generally more suitable.

Can I use Light Clay directly in the feeder?

Yes. You can mix the clay with groundbait so the filling stays well in the feeder and breaks down after reaching the bottom. Adjust the ratio according to the moisture level of the groundbait and the current.

Can I add live bait to the clay?

Yes. Sieved light clay can be enriched with, for example, maggots or bloodworms. Mix carefully so the bait is not damaged and is distributed evenly over the feeding area.
