Van Den Eynde VDE-Collant PV1: more binding in your groundbait

Van Den Eynde VDE-Collant is a ground PV1 product that you add to a groundbait mix as a binding ingredient. It helps make the groundbait more compact, so groundbait balls hold together better during casting and only start working at the desired depth or on the bottom. This makes Collant particularly useful in deep water, in flowing water or when you need to cast further.

PV1 is made from ground horse feed pellets and, thanks to the molasses used, has a distinctive sweet aroma. The ingredient not only increases binding power, but also adds extra flavour and nutritional value to the groundbait mix. This makes it better suited to a heavier, targeted mix than to a very light, fast-acting groundbait.

How do you use VDE-Collant?

First mix Collant dry and evenly through the groundbait, then moisten it gradually. Start with around 10% of the total dry mix. If you clearly need more binding power, you can increase this to approximately 15%. Always test the consistency in a bucket or at the water's edge: the groundbait should remain intact during the cast, while still breaking down properly on the fishing spot.

According to Van Den Eynde, Collant can be combined with Van Den Eynde Special and Van Den Eynde Beet, among others. This allows you to adjust the binding power of the base mix without using unnecessarily many different ingredients.
