Choose the eyed version when you want to tie a hair rig or use a pellet band or Speed Stop on the hair. For a very direct setup with bait on the hook, a spade-end hook can also be suitable.

The in-turned point helps the hook turn into a favourable position during the take and offers some protection to the point when fishing intensively. Do check the sharpness regularly.
