GPM-B Spade End Barbless

The Preston GPM-B Spade End Barbless is a versatile barbless spade-end hook for commercial fisheries. The all-round wide-gape pattern was developed for pole fishing, but can also be used with a waggler or feeder setup. Its shape is suitable for a wide range of baits and fishing situations, from small F1s to match-sized carp.

The matt P.T.F.E. coating supports durability and sharpness while keeping the hook discreet underwater. The enlarged spade makes it possible to confidently use slightly thicker hooklength materials when stronger fish are expected. If you prefer fishing with a ready-made rig, 15 cm GPM-B hooklengths with the same hook are also available.

Frequently asked questions

Which fish species is the GPM-B suitable for?

The GPM-B is designed as an all-round hook for commercial fisheries and is suitable for targeting F1s, bream and match-sized carp, among others. Match the hook size and hooklength strength to the fish you expect.

Which baits can I use on this hook?

The wide hook gape is suitable for commonly used baits such as pellets, sweetcorn, maggots, worms and luncheon meat. Choose a hook size that leaves sufficient space around the bait.

Why does this hook have an enlarged spade?

The larger spade provides extra security when using a thicker or stronger hooklength. When tying, position the line neatly along the inside of the hook shank.

Are ready-made hooklengths available with the GPM-B hook?

Yes. Preston also supplies pre-tied 15 cm GPM-B Spade End hooklengths on Reflo Power line, ideal when you want to fish quickly and consistently.
