Super MWG Barbless Eyed

The Guru Super MWG Barbless Eyed is a strong, versatile eyed hook for modern coarse and commercial fishing. MWG stands for Match Wide Gape: the wide, slightly curved hook bend provides plenty of hooking space and helps keep the fish securely hooked during the fight.

The hook is forged from high-quality steel and finished with a durable PTFE coating. This matte finish reduces glare and helps retain the sharp point for longer. The slightly larger eye makes it easier to use thicker lines or stronger hooklength material when targeting powerful fish.

Frequently asked questions

What does MWG stand for on this Guru hook?

MWG means Match Wide Gape. The wide hook bend increases hooking space and makes the model suitable for a variety of bait types and techniques.

Why does the Super MWG have a slightly larger eye?

The larger eye makes it easier to thread through thicker lines and stronger hooklength material. This is useful when specifically targeting larger or hard-fighting fish.

Which techniques can I use the Super MWG for?

The Super MWG is highly versatile for feeder, match and pole fishing. Thanks to the eye, the hook is also suitable for modern hair rigs with, for example, a bait band.
