Skimmer Wire – Float (10 pieces)

The Guru Skimmer Wire is a versatile pole float for natural waters such as canals, ponds and slow-moving rivers. Its elongated rugby-ball shape offers a strong combination of stability and low resistance, allowing the float to sit steadily while still lifting quickly from the water on a bite.

The metal stem makes this version particularly suitable when a stable, stationary bait presentation is important. Even in wind, light flow or water movement, the rig remains better under control. The translucent Hi-Viz fibreglass tip is highly visible in changing light conditions and sensitive enough to clearly indicate cautious bites from bream, roach and F1.

Key features

• All-round float for still and slow-moving natural waters
• Elongated rugby-ball shape for stability with low resistance
• Metal stem for a steady, stationary bait presentation
• Sensitive, translucent Hi-Viz fibreglass tip
• Dark balsa body that keeps attention focused on the antenna
• Hard-wearing Elastilex finish that helps protect against impacts, line cuts and water absorption
• Antenna and stem proportions matched to the float’s carrying capacity

Mount the float with soft, well-fitting float silicone tubing. Distribute the shot according to the desired bait fall: a compact shotting pattern keeps the bait stable, while a more spread-out pattern lets the bait sink more slowly through the water.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose the Skimmer Wire with a metal stem?

The metal stem provides extra stability and helps keep the hookbait still. This is particularly useful in wind, tow in the water, or when you want a fixed presentation on the bottom.

What water is this float best suited to?

The Skimmer Wire is designed for ponds, canals and slow-moving rivers. Its shape is highly versatile for bream, roach, F1 and other coarse fish when both stability and sensitive bite indication are needed.

How should I shot the Guru Skimmer Wire for winter fishing?

In cold water, a controlled bait fall often works well. Place most of the weight higher on the line and spread smaller shot towards the hooklength, so the bait falls naturally and you can also see bites during the bait fall.
