Super Fine Baiting Needle – Baiting Needle

Guru Super Fine Baiting Needle – fitting fine hook bait with greater control

The Guru Super Fine Baiting Needle is designed to mount hook bait on a hair with minimal damage. The ultra-fine, tapered stainless steel needle glides precisely through soft and smaller hook baits, while the inward-facing hook holds the hair loop during retrieval.

The widened, ergonomic handle provides extra grip when you need to apply controlled pressure. This makes the needle suitable for baiting a loose hair rig or a pre-tied hooklength, such as the Guru Super SMWG Standard Hair Rigs.

Frequently asked questions

Which hook baits is this fine needle most suitable for?

Use this needle mainly for softer or smaller hook baits where a thicker needle would displace too much material. Suitable examples include pellets, sweetcorn, soft meat, wafters and other bait presented on a hair.

How do I attach bait to a hair with this needle?

Carefully insert the needle through the hook bait, hook on the hair loop and pull it back evenly. Then fit a suitable hair stop and check that the bait can move freely.

Can I use the needle to pierce hard hook bait as well?

The handle helps you apply controlled pressure, but do not force the fine needle through very hard bait. Pre-drill hard or brittle hook bait first to prevent damage to both the bait and needle.

What is the advantage of the inward-facing hook?

The hook catches the hair loop without protruding far beyond the needle profile. This keeps the loop in place more effectively and reduces the risk of it catching in the bait.
