Vertex Distance Feeder Rods 🎁

The Drennan Vertex Distance Feeder Rods have been developed for accurate and controlled feeder fishing at longer range. The slim, stiff high-modulus carbon blank quickly builds casting speed, while the powerful mid and butt sections provide sufficient reserves to send a loaded feeder steadily to the chosen feeding spot.

Under pressure, the blank transitions into a more forgiving playing action. This helps you retain control over bream, tench and carp without the rod feeling unnecessarily stiff, reducing the risk of hook pulls. The enlarged guides also allow a leader knot to pass through smoothly, which is practical when fishing with a braided main line and nylon leader.

Each rod is supplied with two interchangeable Drennan Carbon Distance Feeder Tips in 2 oz and 3 oz. Drennan recommends nylon main lines from 6 to 10 lb (0.20 to 0.28 mm) or Braided Line from 0.08 to 0.12 mm. You can find the exact specifications of the currently available rod model in the selection list on this page.

Frequently asked questions

Why do these feeder rods have larger guides?

The larger guides reduce resistance during the cast and allow a correctly tied leader knot to pass through more easily. This is especially useful for distance casting with Braided Line and a nylon leader.

Should I choose nylon or Braided Line?

Nylon offers more stretch and forgiveness while playing fish. Braided Line provides more direct bite detection at distance. If you use braid, combine it with a suitable leader and match your rig to the conditions.

Which feeder tips are included?

You receive one 2 oz and one 3 oz Drennan Carbon Distance Feeder Tip. Choose the tip according to the current, wind and desired bite detection; tip strength is not the same as the rod's maximum casting weight.
