The Drennan Red Range Carp Float has been developed for float fishing on commercial carp fisheries. The progressive carbon blank combines a fast, responsive strike with enough forgiveness during the fight, allowing you to fish in control for both cautiously feeding F1s and silverfish, as well as harder-fighting carp.
This waggler rod is suitable for classic bottom fishing with a float as well as fishing higher in the water. The enlarged line guides support smooth, long casts and easy line retrieval. Drennan recommends reel lines from 4 to 8 lb. For the 10ft and 11ft versions, the manufacturer rates wagglers and pellet wagglers up to 15 grams; Drennan does not specify a maximum waggler weight for the 12ft X3. See the functionally matching collection of wagglers and accessories.
The secure Red Range screw reel seat keeps the reel firmly in place. The profiled EVA handle provides grip during fast, active fishing, while the 3 mm hook keeper allows you to secure your rig safely to the blank. The 10ft and 11ft versions are two-piece. The new 12ft X3, on the other hand, has a three-piece construction and combines a longer rod with a compact transport length. Select the desired version from the drop-down menu.

Frequently asked questions
Can I fish both on the bottom and shallow with this rod?
Yes. The blank has been developed for various float fishing techniques on commercial waters: from conventional bottom fishing to pellet waggler fishing higher in the water.
What waggler weights can I use?
For the 10ft and 11ft versions, Drennan specifies wagglers and pellet wagglers up to 15 grams. The 12ft X3 is also suitable for traditional floats and loaded pellet wagglers, but the manufacturer does not state a specific maximum weight.
Why is a progressive action useful for carp and F1s?
The rod responds quickly when striking, but bends progressively further during the fight as the load increases. This absorbs powerful lunges more effectively and reduces the risk of hook pulls.
