Red Maggot Micro Barbed – Red Hook for Maggots with Barb - 🎁

Drennan Red Maggot Micro Barbed – red maggot hook

The Drennan Red Maggot is a forged spade-end hook with a micro barb, developed for a natural maggot presentation. The dark red finish is unobtrusive among red hook baits, while the distinctive swept crystal bend positions the bait directly beneath the hook point, helping to reduce missed bites.

The medium-long to long shank makes it practical to attach and remove small baits. Thanks to the chemically sharpened long needle point and the balance between fine wire and strength, this hook pattern is suitable for float and feeder fishing for species including roach, dace, grayling and chub. With balanced tackle, the hook can also land larger fish reliably.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the Drennan Red Maggot have a red finish?
The dark red colour visually blends well with red maggots and other red hook baits. This keeps the hook subtle in the presentation.

What type of fishing is this hook pattern for?
The Red Maggot is particularly suitable for float and feeder fishing with multiple maggots, for example for river coarse fish and chub. Match your line, elastic and rod to the expected fish size.

What does the special hook bend do?
The swept crystal bend allows the bait to hang directly beneath the sharp point. This keeps the point clearer and can help convert short or cautious bites more often.
