In-line Shallow Crystal Floats

Drennan In-line Shallow Crystal Floats

The Drennan In-line Shallow Crystal is a strong and virtually unobtrusive pole float for fishing in the upper water layers, along shallow margins and against vegetation or islands. The transparent Crystal body casts less shadow than a traditionally coloured float, making wary feeding carp and F1s less likely to be spooked.

The line runs directly through the fluorescent antenna and the float body. This in-line design greatly reduces the risk of tangles and knots, especially with short rigs and when repeatedly tapping the rig on the water to imitate the sound of falling bait. The clear fibreglass stem combines stability with a very strong construction.

Frequently asked questions

When should I use an In-line Shallow Crystal Float?

This float excels when fishing shallow, targeting fish high in the water, or using a short rig along the margin or against an island.

Why does the line run through the float?

The in-line system limits the number of protruding attachment points and therefore reduces the risk of the line wrapping around the float. This is especially useful when quickly and repeatedly deploying the rig.

What is the advantage of a transparent float?

A clear body is less noticeable and casts less shadow in shallow or clear water. This makes wary fish less likely to move away from the rig.
