These rigs were designed in collaboration with five-time world champion Alan Scotthorne and are largely based on Alan’s own rigs and rig diagrams. They took well over a year to develop and are hand-tied in Drennan’s own factories.
Designed for commercial fisheries, these rigs feature the latest AS range of pole floats. They are made from top-quality balsa and finished with a special tough acrylic paint coating for exceptional strength and durability. They have highly visible hollow tips reinforced into the body, plus a new style of lightweight black stainless steel eyes that are line-friendly and a major improvement over conventional spring eyes.
A sensible shot size from No. 10 to No. 8 is used throughout, and the shotting pattern is based on Alan’s own recommendations. Each float has three correctly positioned float rubbers to keep it securely in place. Drennan Supplex line is used throughout, and all loops are tied with a reliable figure-of-eight knot.
Each rig is supplied on an innovative new, hardened rig winder made from glass-filled nylon, with a unique winder design that allows the hook to sit right at the end, preventing kinks in the hooklength. The winders are also clearly labelled, with detailed rig information printed on the front.
As close as mass production can get to what Alan Scotthorne uses himself. Without doubt the best ready-tied pole rigs available!
