Koi Astax is a feed designed to quickly and safely restore color to koi. The balanced content of astaxanthin and canthaxanthin guarantees intense coloring of your koi without discoloring the white scales, resulting in a high-contrast pattern.
Astaxanthin is a natural red pigment that colors koi, salmon, shrimp, and flamingos from pink to red. Astaxanthin is chemically related to β-carotene (in carrots) and vitamin A and belongs to the carotenoid group. Moreover, astaxanthin is a strong antioxidant, with functions similar to vitamin E, protecting fish from the harmful effects of UV light.
Canthaxanthin is a pigment that also belongs to the carotenoid group but does not naturally occur in the animal kingdom. However, canthaxanthin is common in various plants and is often used to complement astaxanthin to achieve a deeper red color.
Koi Astax is also a distinctly high-protein feed with high levels of quality fishmeal, ensuring a tasty fish food with easy digestion. Due to the high protein content, this color feed is also an excellent growth feed that allows you to quickly bring young koi to color, enabling an earlier first selection than usual.
